Beloved husband of Grace Wambui Mathenge, son of the late Wilson Mwangi Kamundia and the late Miriam Muthoni Mwangi. Cherished Son in-law of the late Mr. Reuben and Mrs. Miriam Chomba of Ihururu. Father of Mwangi Mathenge & Mary Mwololo, Chomba Mathenge, Cyrus Kamundia & Mumbi Mbiyu. Grandfather of Leo Mathenge, Ethan Mwangi, Mathenge Kamundia & Mbiyu Kamundia. Brother of the late Dr.Cyrus Kamundia, the late Winnie Wairimu Karige and the late John Karige Wamatu, Wamboi Phyllis Mwangi, Ndonga Mwangi Kamundia and Jane Mumbi Gakuo, the late Jorum Wambugu. Brother in-law of Dr. Waihenya Chomba, Mary Chuma, Wachira Chomba, Anne Wangai, Geoffrey Chomba, John Chomba, the late Mwangi Chomba and Mumbi Murigu. Beloved uncle, cousin and friend of many. Prayer and funeral planning meetings will be held at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi on Monday 1st September and Tuesday 2nd September from 5.00-8.00pm. The cortege leaves KU Referral hospital Mortuary on Thursday 4th September at 7.00am for the funeral service and interment at his home in Gathuthi, Tetu - Nyeri County. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 ~ “In all things give thanks.”

Loving husband of Elizabeth Khakasa Minishi. Much-loved father of Tem Shamalla, Barbara Khaliyesa and Kenneth Sambu. Father-in-law of Sharon Migalitza Ominde. Grandfather of Ayanna Khakasa and Liora Narah. LBS was third son of the late Festo and the late Elizabeth (Lusanji) Minishi of Lirhembe Village Ikolomani, Kakamega. Son-in-law of the late Rapison Khaemba and the late Lenah Nasambu. Beloved brother of the late Eliud Shivachi, Origen Minishi Maviala, the late Wycliffe Minishi, Professor Mabel Minishi, Jane Minishi Etsula, Oliver Minishi, Henrietta Minishi Barr & Rosalind Minishi. He was brother-in law of the late Norah Shivachi, Zubeda Shivachi, Loy Maviala, the late Leonida Minishi, the late Morris Etsula, Ruth Njeri Minishi, Joseph Barr, Alfred Shikanga, Masoni Wavomba, Margaret Akutekha, Tom Khaemba, the late Pius Wekesa, the late Mary Wakasa, the late William Mumasaba and the late Moses Maelo. Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. LBS will be laid to rest on Saturday 30 August 2025 at 9.00am at Lirhembe Village in Kakamega County.

Mama Teresa Moraa Mosinya Mokaya 10th October 1953 ~ 24th August 2025 It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of our beloved Mama Teresa Moraa Mosinya Mokaya. Daughter of the late Zephania Abuga and the late Naomi Mokeira of Mochenwa Village, Nyabiosi Sub-location, Nyamira County. She was a cherished wife of the late John Geoffrey Mokaya of Kebirichi Village, Birongo, Nyamira County. Daughter-in-law of the late Mokaya Michoki and the late Agnes Onchiri. She was a loving mother of Christine and Hillary, Susan, Roselyne, Lydia, Charles and Caroline, Esther, Grace and Winnie and Ombese. Grandmother of Matthew, Kiramia, Amani, Talia, Emma, Jaden, Lisa, Roman, Ethan, Maxwell, Luke, Nathan, Erica and Eliana. She was a sister of the late Kumenda and Nyanchama, the late Druscilla and Ogega, the late Eunice and Nyantika, Nyatwong’i and Nyabate, Hellen and the late Nyamweya, and Mainye and Janet. She was shemeji of the late Mosoti and Mary, the late Isaboke and Lucina, Makori and Phyllis, the late Moraa and Moruri, Kerubo and Ombongi, Dr. Mokaya (JKUAT) and Jane, the late Jerusa Lydia and Julius and the late Kwamboka. Korera of Paul and Sarah Rutto, Patrick and Winnie Njenga, Charles and Hellen Makone. She was a cousin and aunt to many. Teresa was a devoted member of the Nakuru Central Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she found deep joy in serving the Lord. Her unwavering faith, kind heart and quiet strength touched many lives. Family and friends are meeting daily at her home in Kiamunyi, Nakuru at 5.00 p.m. The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home, Nakuru on Friday 5th September 2025 for a church service at Nakuru Central SDA Church from 9.30 a.m. and thereafter the final interment will be held at her home in Olive Inn, Kiamunyi. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Nyanumba Nyakwara and co-wife of Zipporah Nyakerario Nyanumba.Cherished mother of Bismarck Ndubi, Vincent Nyamwario and Julius Mikae; and step-mother of Kennedy Agaki, Gladys Bosibori, Emily Moraa, Everline Kwambok, and Douglas Ndubi. Mother-in-law of Nelliah Ondieki, Jeria Nyaitondi and Caroline Bosibori; and grandmother of Faith, Ruth, Alfred, Elle and Jayden.Daughter of the late Julius Kurgat and Rebecca Cherotich; sister of Samuel Boit, Elizabeth Boit, Esther Soy, Benard Boit and others. Sister-in-law of the Nyakwara family and aunt to many.The cortege leaves Pandya Memorial Hospital, Mombasa, on Wednesday, 27th August 2025, for Nyandoche Ibere, Nyamira County. Burial will take place on Friday, 29th August 2025, at her home in Nyandoche Ibere Village.

He was the son of the late Mr Josiah Were Aliet and the late Mama Dinah Anyango Were and the late Mama Mary Atieno Were. The late George was married to Caroline Achieng of Kenya Defence Forces, Lanet. Father of Lavin Atieno, Taban Gregory Omondi and Gerald Josiah Were. He was the brother of the late Alfred Were, Linet Were, Dennis Were, Beatrice Were, Wycliffe Were, Allan Were and Brenda Were. He was brother-in-law of Maureen Odongo, Esther Mbaka, Rose Khamunde, Erick and Jared Ngoya. The cortege will depart from Gendia Adventist Hospital Funeral Home on Thursday 21st August 2025 for his home in Kowuor East Sub Location, East Kanyaluo Location, Homabay County where he will be laid to rest on Friday 22nd August 2025. Death has occurred of Lilian Kiburu (formerly of East African Portland Cement) while undergoing treatment in India. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Kiburu and Mrs Jane Kiburu. She is survived by her children, Maureen, Nikitta and Nathan. She was sister of Dr Lydiah Kiburu, late Alice Kiburu, Catherine Kiburu Nganga & Martin Nganga, the late Charity Kiburu, Allan Kiburu & Carol Gesare. She was a loving auntie of many nieces and nephews. She was niece of Veronica Njoroge of Nembu, Tom Maara Gichuhi & Margaret Gichuhi, Mr & Mrs Philip Kinuthia, Mr & Mrs Ngugi Gichuhi, Mr Kangethe & Rev. Mrs Mary Kangethe, among others. She was a member of the Bahasha group of cousins. Family and friends are meeting daily at their home in Nembu Sub-location, Gatundu South. There will be prayers at All Saints Cathedral on Monday 11th August 2025 at 5.30pm. It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Retired Mwalimu Thomas Kimagut Ngeny, who went to be with the Lord on 1st August 2025 while undergoing treatment at Aga Khan Hospital. Born in 1943 in Kabuson Village (Tugen), Koyo Hills, Nandi South to the late Joseph Cheramei Chepkwony, the late Anna Tabunei and late Rebecca Jemesunde. He was the second-born in a large and loving family. He is fondly remembered by his siblings: the late Isabella, Dorcas, Solomon, Lena, Elizabeth, Emily, Petro, Kiptogom, the late Kimaiyo, and Jematia. He was a cousin and uncle to many. He was a devoted husband of Sally Jelagat Ngeny, and they were blessed with children: Beatrice (EAC -Arusha), Cheruiyot (Business), Janet (MTRH), Kirwa (KPA), Diphyna (Business), Kipkemboi (Farmer), Chris Mitei (Business ), Vincent (Ausi), Jepleting (Ausi), and Kevin (KeNHA - Corridor B). He was a cherished father-in-law of the late Tecla, Caroline (Coca-cola), Ruth (UG County), Eunice (Nganiat Pri), Carolyne (Jamhuri High), and Constance (Aussie) and to Joseph Rono, Abraham Malel and Eng. Wilson Kosgey (KRB). He was a loving grandfather of Pam, Purity, Paula, Brian, Faith, Caren, Walter, Emmanuel, Elsa, Alisha, Abby, Abel, Cayln, Damian, Kimberly, Patience, Pravin, Valarie, Victor, Vivaan, Glenda, Ayden, Azaniah, Adriel, Adel, Jayden, Shane, and a proud great-grandfather of Tiffany. A funeral service will be held today 12th August 2025 at AIC Milimani from 2:00 pm and a fundraiser thereafter from 5:00pm to help the family offset hospital and burial expenses. Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and arrangements in Nairobi and Ng’aniat where a fundraiser is being held parallel to the one in Nairobi. The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital on 14th August 2025, with burial on 15th August 2025 at his home in Kapseret (Ng’aniat). “In the Lord’s hands you rest, in our hearts you live forever.”

She was the mother of Eric Mureithi Muraguri, Rose Wairimu Muraguri and Elizabeth Catherine Mirigo Muraguri. She was the daughter of Gerald and the late Catherine Gichuhi. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Johnson Muriithi and Rose Muriithi. She was the sister of Muchiri and Wakarura, Joan Muthoni, Wanjiru Gichuhi, Muriithi and Nyambura, Wangui and Muriuki, Waruguru and Njoroge & Njoki and Kibethi. She was the sister-in-law of John and Irene, Ruth and Wahome, Nderitu and Rosemary and Karia Muriithi. She was family and a friend to many. A prayer meeting will be held at Lavington United Church on Monday 18th of August 2025 at 5.00PM. The memorial service will be at Lavington United Church on Tuesday, 19th of August 2025 beginning at 10.00AM. Betty was the third of four children born to the late Edith Ingado Ambune and Enos China Wafula. She is survived by her father, Mr. Enos Wafula, stepmother Mrs. Topister Wafula; brothers Stephen Wafula, Arnold Wafula, and George China; step-brother Laban Wafula; sisters-in-law Carolyne Edagwa-Wafula, Lea Williams-China, and Ann Nyaguthii; nieces Neema, Zawadi, Misper and Abigael; and nephew Dennis. Niece to the late Solomon Ambune of Lukhuna, the late Pricsillah Nalwa of Kimilili, Esther Godia, Albert Ambune, Professor Samuel Soita China of Kitale, the late Phoebe Manyasi of Nasianda, William China of Makunga, Herbert China of Makunga, Alica Makanyaga of Nabingenge, Joseph Kakai of Mukuyuni, Essau Mukhwana (ODM) of Mukuyuni, the late Sikuku China of Makunga, Ayub China of Makunga, Festus China of Matete, Joel Sivona of Luuya & Rhoda Muniafu of Mitukuyu among others. Betty was a beloved daughter and sister, a cherished friend, and a treasured member of our family. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love touched all who knew her.


A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday 21 August 2025, at ICC Nairobi West from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Service and Burial will take place on Saturday 23 August 2025, at Makunga Village, Bungoma County.
